Tropical Ecology and Community Based Conservation International Program, March 2025 Period Ends, Postgraduate Director Releases Foreign Students University General University General

Denpasar, Friday, June 20, 2025: after taking place from the beginning of March 2025, the International Program “Tropical Ecology and Community-Based Conservation” at the Udayana University Postgraduate Master of Environmental Science Study Program (PSMIL Pasca Unud) was finally officially closed and released by the Director of Postgraduate Udayana University, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Wayan Budiasa, S.P., M.P., IPU, ASEAN Eng., located in the Hall Room of the Postgraduate Udayana University Building. The program which is a collaboration between PSMIL Post Unud and Lumen Media PTE. LTD., has been running for the third time. The event was attended by PSMIL Coordinator Prof. Ir. Ida Ayu Astarini, MSc., PhD, lecturers, students, and a team from the Upskill Study Program. The event began with a report from the PSMIL Coordinator, Prof. Dayu, who explained that this program aims to provide an in-depth understanding of tropical coastal ecology and community-based conservation. The materials obtained by students are mangrove, seagrass and seaweed, coral and fish, community-based tourism, and Indonesian language, she added. Prof. Dayu also hopes that in the future this program will continue.




Meanwhile, the postgraduate director in his speech congratulated the students for successfully taking the international program “Tropical Ecology and Community-Based Conservation,” which has been running smoothly. Prof. Budiasa also hopes that students can apply the knowledge gained both in class and during field studies in their environment when they return to their respective countries. After giving a speech, Prof. Budiasa handed over certificates as proof that they had completed this program. 




Representative of foreign students Chris Vreugdenhil, in his speech, said Bali is really beautiful and will be very difficult to forget. Chris also added that he represented his friends to thank PSMIL, the Upskill Program, the lecturers, and all the staff who had given him a lot of knowledge and helped when they were taking this program. The end of the event was filled with project presentations from students related to the things they have learned to get responses from both the lecturers and the program manager (DK).
